Haiti Earthquake Awareness - Please Donate This earthquake was a magnitude 7 quake. It killed more than 100000 people and destroyed many buildings, businesses and homes. The earthquake occurred on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. It lasted a good 35 seconds. Haiti was already a poor country living in poverty, now they are much more deep in poverty than ever before.
